Amazon has announced that its electric vans have now successfully delivered 5 million packages since its launch.
Amazon started using these Rivian electric vans in the U.S. back in July, and the company plans to use them in more than 100 U.S. cities during the holiday season.
Amazon is gearing up for its first-ever holiday season with its custom electric delivery fleet designed by Rivian. Hundreds of vehicles launched in more than a dozen cities this summer, including Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Nashville, Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle and St. Louis.Since then, Amazon has expanded its fleet and now has more than 1,000 electric delivery vans delivering in more than 100 U.S. cities
Customers will begin discovering delivery in new cities including Austin, Boston, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Madison, Newark, New York, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Portland, Provo and Salt Lake City Door-to-door holiday gifts and parcel vans. The expansion comes as Amazon and Rivian continue to progress toward their goals of having thousands of vehicles by the end of the year and 100,000 by 2030.
