Leica has launched a new smartphone in Japan, the Leica Leitz Phone 2, which shares some specs with the Sharp Aquos R7.

The Leica Leitz Phone 2 features a 6.6-inch OLED display with a Full HD+n resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels, and the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile processor.

With 12GB of RAM, the phone also comes with 512GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot for additional storage.

The smartphone comes with a range of high-end cameras, one on the front and one on the back.

On the front of the phone, there’s a 16-megapixel camera designed for video calls and selfies. On the back of the device, there is a 47-megapixel camera and a 1-inch sensor, which is equipped with a seven-element Leica Summicron lens. The phone has a 5000 mAh battery and comes with Android 12.

The new Leica Leitz Phone 2 will be launched in Japan on November 18, the phone will retail for 225,360 yen, or about $1,540 at current exchange rates, and it will be available in one color, white. There are no details yet on whether it will launch outside of Japan.
